Why the C5

The Yamaha C5 has long been the workhorse grand of conservatories, teaching studios and smaller recital halls worldwide. At 200cm, it sits in the sweet spot between portability and tonal authority — large enough for a rich, projecting sound with proper bass depth, yet compact enough for rooms where a full concert grand would overwhelm. Japanese-built Yamahas from this era are particularly sought after for their build quality, consistent voicing and reliable action. The C5 became a benchmark precisely because it delivers professional performance without compromise.
